Guster @ Orpheum Theatre
10/31/2009
Boston, MA
Man, was this a show to look forward to! Guster - in Boston - playing Lost and Gone Forever in its entirety - and exactly 10 years after their infamous Halloween 1999 show. Playing a 26-song set, the band put on one of the most memorable shows ever, including a new banjo-ed up version of "Rocketship" and a whistling children's chorus for "All the Way Up to Heaven."
As if the awesomeness of this show was not enough, the fact that all our Guster friends were here tonight made the show even more memorable. I have only been going to Guster shows since 2006, and I realize that a lot of my friends were at the 1999 Halloween show 10 years ago; it's so great that this family keeps getting bigger. It's cool to think that a lot of us traveled from various corners of the country to be at this show, and there's probably no other friends who I'd give up my VIP pass so quickly for.
Our favorite videographer, DF Yonkman, was also there with his crew, filming the show for a possible DVD release, and I was sure to get a bunch of pictures of them hard at work. Special thanks go out to the band, their management, Seth, Liz, and Dalton, the crew, Scooter (thanks for the setlist!), Josh (who wears a Guster shirt to a Guster concert), and Gord.
