Harry and the Potters @ The Bell House

Have you been to a Harry and the Potters show yet? These guys put on a fantastic concert, and the crowd is like nothing else you've experienced (unless you've been to a Harry and the Potters concert before, that is). After shooting their 2008 Yule Ball in Massachusetts, we were eager to get to another Yule Ball show. This time around, we took a bunch of photos - a total of 1252 pictures in total were taken - and from those, we now present to you Part 1.

That's right, this is just the first batch of pictures that I shot with the Canon 1D Mark IV and my old 30d. Chris was in the crowd, shooting with a 5D Mark II, and those pictures will be added soon. Check back in a week or so. While I was shooting from the wings of the stage and the back corners of the Bell House, Chris braved the crowd with various wide lenses.

On a technical note, I must once again speak wonders of the Canon 1D Mark IV. An amazing camera that totally changes the way I take pictures. It's funny to think how the 30d used to be my primary camera just one year ago (even though it was obsolete then also) and I was limited to an ISO of 800 or 1600. Shooting at an ISO of 2500 as a minimum on the 1D Mark IV, I had no trouble lighting the pictures. We were also given permission to use flases for this show, and the Canon Speedlight 580 did not disappoint. Cool technology, great music, and awesome amounts of fun. What more could you ask for?

For more information on these pictures, or for ordering info, please shoot me an email. If you know that we took a picture of you but don't see it here, you were probably photographed with the other camera and your picture will arrive soon with the next batch.

UPDATED WITH PART II: That's right, here are all the pictures you'd ever want to see.
