Golden Bloom and Neutral Uke Hotel @ Cameo Gallery
10/21/2010
Brooklyn, NY
I'm pretty sure that the last concert I had been to before this was the Golden Bloom/Guster show in April. It's been a while! Golden Bloom, as always, was at the top of their game, and it was great to see these guys again. This was also my first Neutral Uke Hotel show, and their sound definitely has me hooked. Can't wait to catch another show like this!
Special thanks go out to my buddy Chris Tibaldi, who lent me his awesome Canon EOS 1D Mark IV camera for this shoot. Concerts with low lighting are very difficult to photograph (take a look at some more Brooklyn concerts on my concerts page) and it's totally awesome that technology has reached the point where we can get great-looking images with a tiny amount of light. I'm used to getting very grainy images on my Canon 30D at an ISO of 1600, but this camera was kicking ass beyond 3000 and 4000! My Photoshop skills also come into play a little bit with the editing of these pictures - gone are the days where I just post every picture that I took. After shooting around 8GB worth of raw images, the list of good pictures gets narrowed down more and more until a final few get the Photoshop treatment and then get posted online for all to see.
